Veranda Panda brings Wake and Shake dance energy to Ballito Farmers’ Market
The Durban duo is drawing on the popular coffee rave craze in Europe.
Music and movement filled the Ballito Farmers’ Market on Saturday as Veranda Panda kicked off St Patrick’s Day weekend with their Wake and Shake performance.
Fans of all ages gathered among the stalls, turning the relaxed setting into a lively, family-friendly dance floor.
The husband-and-wife duo, Liam and Jane Magner, blend electric violin, beats and vocals to create a distinctive live sound. Over 15 years, they have built a reputation performing at local nightclubs and international festivals.

Wake and Shake draws on Europe’s “coffee rave” trend – early-morning dance events designed to energise and uplift.
The concept is gaining traction, with several bookings already lined up this year.
“We took a risk,” Liam admitted.
“I was terrified it wouldn’t work in South Africa, but people have really embraced it.”
