Second #LoveNorthCoast Big Float brings community together at sunrise

Sponsored coffee, pilates and plenty of good spirit added to the fun of the event.

A sunrise gathering at Thompson’s Bay tidal pool brought more than 100 locals together for the #LoveNorthCoast Big Float on Sunday.

The second edition of this fun event offered a gentle start to the day, where the rush of everyday life was replaced by stillness, laughter and the sound of the sea.

Adding to the morning’s activities, Tash Barnard from TashB Pilates led a pre-float stretch session and free coffee was sponsored by Seaton Estate for the first 100 attendees.

Event organiser Leah Shone said she was thrilled with the turnout.

“We wanted to create something that’s accessible, positive and brings people together in an authentic way,” she said.

“And honestly, there’s nothing more ‘North Coast’ than the ocean at sunrise.”

These events are part of the wider #LoveNorthCoast movement, a non-profit collective of local business owners working together to promote the area, support local growth and celebrate community spirit.
