SPCA Dog Box charity shop calls for usable donations
Items that are damaged, broken, heavily worn or dirty will not be accepted by the shop.
The SPCA Dog Box offers a treasure trove of second-hand finds while encouraging thoughtful donations to support animal welfare.
Based at the Balvista Centre in Ballito Village, the charity shop is completely volunteer run and a crucial fundraiser for the Durban & Coast SPCA.
The reason the shop is so enjoyable to browse is because each item has been checked by the team to ensure it is good enough quality to resell. That is a crucial part of the collection process for any charity shop and something the Dog Box is appealing for help with.
“We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support and generosity shown through donations to our shop,” said Durban and Coast SPCA marketing manager, Tanya Fleischer.
“However, we kindly ask that all donations are made with dignity and consideration. If you wouldn’t buy it, we simply can’t sell it. We respectfully ask that you dispose of such items responsibly, rather than donating them.”
Fleischer said the shop will not accept items that are damaged, broken, heavily worn or dirty.
The shop is open from 10am-4pm, Monday to Friday, and from 9am-12.30pm on Saturdays.
You can donate in-store, or call 031 579 6534 to organise a pick up with a representative.
Friday is the North Coast collection day.
