A riot of spring colour, bold designs and gorgeous models lit up the runway at the annual Summerhill Fashion Show last Tuesday.

Wave Church in Foxhill was transformed into a fashion hub as 10 designers put their latest seasonal creations on display to a packed audience. From the coastal glamour of Beach and Beyond to the striking styles of Katherine Kidger Designs, the runway offered plenty of inspiration for the new season.

Guests embraced the occasion too, arriving dressed to impress in colourful spring outfits.

But it was the kids of Summerhill House, a non-profit caring for vulnerable, orphaned and abandoned children in Etete, who stole the show. The young models received an emotional welcome as they confidently took to the runway modelling outfits from Oh So Pretty kids wear.

Their appearance brought a special touch to the event, which raised more than R70 000 for the children’s home.

Summerhill House co-founder Paula Owen said the event’s success was evidence of the kindness and generosity of the North Coast community.

“Wow! I have never seen community, fashion, friends and faith come together so beautifully all in the aid of Summerhill’s mission of caring for children. A huge thank you to every person involved,” she said.
