Fast food franchise Burgerack opens with sizzle and style at Ballito Junction

A wide variety of food options are available on the American-inspired menu.

Gourmet burger franchise Burgerack is the newest member of the local fast-food scene after opening on Level 6 at Ballito Junction last Wednesday.

Family and friends of owner Mohomed Gany attended the launch of the restaurant, which draws on American grill culture with its menu and design. Burgerack has a strong presence across Gauteng, while Gany owns the other KZN location at Gateway in Umhlanga.

“We’ve been working to secure this site for the past year and eventually found the right spot,” said Gany, who returned to South Africa after 16 years abroad in Saudi Arabia.

“It took about a month to build the store, and it’s amazing to see it come together from nothing.”

Aside from a focus on burgers as the name suggests, Burgerack offers ribs, wings, nachos, tacos and dessert options, among others. All food is Halaal certified.

“I cannot wait to serve the local community and make people happy – to see the smiles on their faces after they enjoy our food,” added Gany.
