Budding entrepreneurs shine in inaugural Little Legends Market

The event supported Summerhill House in Etete.

Young entrepreneurs took centre stage at the Little Legends Market, hosted at the Ballito Farmers’ Market on Sunday.

The Chipmonks, Anah Tilley, Sydney Coulsen and Onesa Nxongo surprised buyers with their golden ticket lucky packets.

Running from 10am to midday, the event showcased the creativity, innovation and enthusiasm of local children who set up their own stalls to sell a variety of homemade goods.

With 27 stalls, the market – themed “Small Stalls, Big Dreams” – drew families from across the region, all eager to support the next generation of talent.

Ballito Farmers’ Market marketing manager and event organiser Lisa Lunn highlighted the importance of nurturing entrepreneurial skills like budgeting and customer interaction at a young age.

“The Little Legends Market was a wonderful celebration of young entrepreneurship, community spirit and giving back,” said Lisa.

“We were incredibly proud of the children, who created such innovative stalls and products, and grateful for the fantastic support from the community.”

Kevin, Maria and Blake Cadman manned the Cadman’s Swedish Bakery stall.

The event also supported a meaningful cause. Stallholder fees (R100 each) totalling R2 700 were donated to Summerhill House, a children’s orphanage in Etete, which was also present with a biscuit and cookie stall to receive additional contributions from the community.
