The Lot goes full send for World Go Skate Day at Ballito Junction

Loads of prizes, free pizza and drinks, along with Red Bull's famous mobile music setup, added to the atmosphere.

More than 100 skaters rolled into The Lot skatepark at Ballito Junction on Sunday to celebrate World Go Skate Day.

Featuring kids’, girls’ and adults’ jam sessions, the event transcended age, gender, race and economic background as skaters celebrated the culture, freedom and community of skateboarding together.

World Go Skate Day was established in 2004 by the International Association of Skateboard Companies to make skateboarding more visible and accessible, while fostering camaraderie within local skate scenes.

In the northern hemisphere, the day coincides with the summer solstice, marking the longest day of the year.
