Slam dunk for Shakaskraal school
Shakaskraal Primary School brings home the silver.
Shakaskraal State Aided Primary School’s basketball players are still reeling from their experience at KZN school championships finals which were recently held in Durban.
The tournament consisted of basketball teams from schools around the province who battled it out from October 11-13. Shakaskraal brought home the silver after losing the gold to Siqhobamithi Primary when the game went on extra time.
Their coach Queen Ndlovu said she was proud of the dedication and endurance her players showed and was not disappointed that they did not become champions.
“We would have loved to represent our province in national champs but the experience of going to the finals taught us a lot about our game and we will hopefully do better next year,” said Ndlovu.
These Ilembe district champs are already preparing for the circuit tournaments which begin early next year.
