Captain Tyler scoops silver

What out boys, this girl can play rugby.

Ashton International College pupil Tyler Mirtle recently returned home with silver medals for her team in the inter-provincial touch rugby tournament held in Cape Town. Five junior KZN teams participated in the South African Touch Association (SATA) tournament. After three days of gruelling matches on a challenging field which was water logged from the previous rains, KZN made semi-finals against NTS (Northerns Touch Association) with an exciting win of 2-1.
Tyler said she is honoured to be captain and to have been a part of the U17 girls touch rugby team.
“It was an exciting inter provincial tournament and the girls have every reason to be proud. It was no small feat to work our way to the finals. A big thank you to the organisers Gill and Jenna Nortier, SATA and our coach Brendan Walpole.”
