Manor Secondary are debate kings

They have the gift of the gab!

Stanger Manor Secondary School claimed top honours at the Luthuli Museum Let’s Talk debate competition recently.
Debating the topic ‘Do you think that Chief Albert Luthuli is the number one role model for all South Africans?’ Nabeel Kolia, Jisheel Kanaye and Nirbana Singh beat the team from Shakaskraal Secondary School, consisting of Kaylene Ruthnum, Rivashni Naidoo and Mishka Dani.
Stanger Secondary School took the runner’s up position after a fierce debate with Nkosimbovu School from Hambanathi on “The music of today has a negative influence on the youth”.
The Let’s Talk debate was first held at the Luthuli Museum in 2009 and featured two high schools. Since then it has grown every year. The aim of the event is, amongst others, to teach pupils to think constructively, to promote teamwork and to increase their general knowledge.
