A former Ballito pupil took her fight against rhino poaching all the way to the United States of America.
Dual South Africa-USA citizen Cami Rencken (16), a former Crawford College North Coast pupil, organised a rhino run in Santa Rosa to promote awareness of the plight of rhinos.
Cami worked with Port Elizabeth resident Sian OʼKeefe from the Rhino Run foundation to co-ordinate the run for 70 soccer athletes at Maria Carrillo High School.
The pupils spent two weeks discussing conservation and learning about rhino poaching in South Africa before completing the six kilometre run on September 30.
