On a gloomy Thursday morning Umhlali Prep school’s day was brightened when they received a donation from Holla Trails.
Trail master Cam Service handed over a cheque of R7000 to Umhlali’s Headmistress Astra Russel.
The money was raised from the recent Gears for Ears cycle race. “We supplemented the event with a trail run and all the proceeds from that, as well as a portion of the earnings from entire event, went towards this donation,” said Service
Umhlali Prep’s grade 7 pupils are in charge of fundraising for the school. Cathy Beans and Wendy Moss, who are parents of pupils, coordinate fundraising.
This year they have managed to raise around R230 000 for various projects at the school.
