Science boffins

Pupils from three local schools excelled at the Olympiad.

Many North Coast pupils shone in the science arena this year. Some of them achieving very well in national competition.
Stanger Manor Secondary school pupils Jisheel Kanaye and Shrivaan Ramkilawan held their school’s flag high at the recent 17th  annual Olympiad awards function at the University of KZN Howard College.
Ramkilawan was placed joint first and Kanayeand was placed joint second in the Life Science National Olympiads.
Divioka Naidoo, a grade six pupil at Seatides Combined School came third in the 2013 National Science Olympiad.
The Olympiad caters for natural science (grade four to nine), life science and physical science (grade 10 and 11).
Crawford College North Coast pupil Keleiah Pillay recently returned from the International Science Olympiad with a bronze medal.
Keleiah was selected to represent South Africa at the event, held in the Philippines in November.
