Ashton helps those in need

School helps St Christopher's School for disabled children with new wheelchairs.

Grade five and six pupils from Ashton Junior College’s social responsibility club raised over R700 for the “Bread Tags For Wheelchairs Project”

This project aims to help St Christopher’s School for disabled children with new wheelchairs.

The Senior College Debutantes and Squires donated the money to purchase a new wheelchair for St Christopher’s.

The Junior College collected bread tags on behalf of the school in Pietermaritzburg and collected about 8kg or almost 16 000 tags in total.

The pupils were on duty every morning before school and sacrificed their break time to help out with the project.

The wheelchair was ordered by Dave Saber from Dis-Chem Ballito.

Sharing the enthusiasm of the Ashton pupils to make a difference in someone’s life, Felicity Jamieson who recently lost her husband, donated a wheelchair for the project and it will be donated to St. Christopher’s.
