Net worth measured in gold

Undefeated since the 2014 season, this team has got what it takes!

Since the beginning of last year, the U11 netball team of Umhlali Prep started competing in the Durban North Action netball league on Mondays.

The seven girls had to commit Monday afternoons for matches and Thursday mornings at 6.45am for practice.

Their hard work paid off. Last year, the team won all their action netball games and won gold medals in April 2014.

From there on they won all their league games for Umhlali prep and started 2015 as the undefeated champions.

They were able to keep up the hard work in 2015 and won gold medals in their Action netball league.

Since the beginning of this netball season, Umhlali are still undefeated and remain determined to stay that way.

The girls have grown to know, respect and play the game of netball so well together.

The team have since only lost one member of the team and welcomed a new goal defence player, but the rest of the girls are all part of the original 2014 team.

Umhlali action netball coach, Liné de Vries said that she and the whole of Umhlali Prep school are so proud of them, because they have worked so hard.

“They practiced what they were told – in the early morning chill and the late afternoon heat, and they work together as a well-oiled machine. These seven girls, only nine and ten years old, showed determination and perseverance and got the medals to show for it. Good luck for the rest of the season!” said De Vries.
