Isnembe Secondary School was awarded the SEEP Green School Award for their efforts to be environmentally friendly.

Isnembe Secondary School was awarded the SEEP Green School Award at a function held by the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental affairs in KwaDukuza on Wednesday, March 25.

The school registered for the School Environmental Education Programme in 2014 and is “quite thrilled” with the award received.

The award acknowledges the efforts of the SEEP committee and Eco-Club of the school for their commitment to green principles.

Isnembe has run a very active and successful Eco-Club since 2007 with activities of the SEEP committee and Eco-Club including recycling, vegetable and herb gardens, speech and spelling bee contests, choral verse as well as clean-up drives, to name a few.
