The spirit of athletics
Ashton athletes take to the track for inter-house.
Ashton Senior and Junior Colleges held their annual inter-house athletics meetings last week, delivering some fierce competition between Cambridge, Oxford and London houses.
In the Junior College, London won overall, but it was Cambridge which clinched the spirit trophy with their wild ‘Jungle’ theme.
Amy Naudé was the Victrix Ludorum, with Matthew Opperman winning the Victor Ludorum trophy. The most promising girl was Rouxlé Johnston with the most promising boy going to Matthew Quixley.
The Senior College saw both the Victor and Victrix Ludorum awards being shared between JJ Botha and Enzo Missio and then Danelle van der Linde and Jessica Quixley, respectively.
The overall house winner was London – a mere two points ahead of Oxford.
The Junior Victrix Ludorum was Shannon Oellerman, while the Junior Victor Ludorum was Kwakuhle ‘KK’ Gowana.
