GALLERY: Olympic parade at Crawford

The goal of the day was to celebrate and create a hype and cheer for our South African team, as they continue their journey to gold.

Crawford North Coast transformed into a colourful, Rio parade as everyone dressed the part for the school’s Olympic torch lighting in honour of the Crawford Olympians last week.

The five olympians – Cameron van der Burgh, Jarred Crous, Michael Meyer, Michelle Weber and Dylan Bosch – are all swimmers and the parade was held in the lead up to the official Olympic torch ceremony on August 5.

The torch for #CrawfordTrackTheTorch was made specifically for this event and was branded with the CrawfordSchools™ logo and the five Olympic rings. The torch stands 61cm high and will travel throughout the country to 19 Crawford Schools, and will burn for the duration for the Olympics at Crawford Pretoria.

The goal of the day was to celebrate and create a hype and cheer for our South African team, as they continue their journey to gold.
