Protec pupils got busy during the Easter Holidays, using the time to brush up on their marks and plan for the future.
The non-profit educational support programme in Tongaat, took their grade 10 pupils to a computer workshop where they learned Microsoft Word, Excel and more about the internet.
“In today’s technological world, computer literacy is essential and our aim is to ensure that every learner on our programme is equipped with these vital skills,” said Protec manager Marion Takis.
For pupils, the highlight of the holiday programme was when they visited the science and technology centre at UKZN Westville campus.

Grade 11 and 12 teenagers focused their interests on improving their marks in math, physical science and life science while the matrics also enjoyed a career day at UKZN.
“All these programmes are designed to ensure that our learners make wise and meaningful career choices and that they are well prepared for successful entry into science, technological and engineering careers,” said Takis.
