Ballito Scouts’ cubs give away jars of hope

They have challenged the scouts to beat their total and want to challenge other groups in the North Coast community to match or better their achievement.

In recognition of Mandela Day on Saturday, July 18 the cubs of the 1st Ballito Scout pack made up food packs that will feed 1016 people.

Challenged to make ‘Jars of Hope’ for the charity Vision 153, the cubs made up jars (or packets) containing rice, lentils, split peas, a stock cube and a packet of soup, which can be made into a nutritious meal for four people just by adding boiling water and cooking for 30 minutes.
