Umhlali Preparatory first team girls took home the win at the BNP Paribas RCS Rising Star tennis tournament held at Westridge stadium on April 24.
The girls where selected to go to the second stage of the national schools tournament which will see them compete in the provincial finals this month.
The top school team will represent KZN in the the national finals this year.
Despite the Umhlali 1st team boys losing to Highbury 1st in the semi finals they still managed to secure a spot in the second stage of the tournament.
Umhlali 2nds played in the B section, beating DPHS 7th in the finals to win the B section.
The KZN finals will take place on May 22-23.
