Ashton College Cambridge matrics cream A levels

Top pupil Christopher Hill bags 10 distinctions.

Cambridge matriculants at Ashton International College Ballito have reason to celebrate after being the first to receive their results on the coast on Monday.

And their results shone as bright as their smiles on the day.

The matriculants and parents were greeted with champagne at the school as results were handed out.

School head, Jenny van Buuren, said the results were incredible and parents and students should be proud.

She noted the average of 4.7 distinctions per candidate, with 53% of all subjects written earning an A and 78% of students achieving an A for biology.

The top 3 at A (Advanced) level were:

Christopher Hill, with 10 distinctions. Hill’s top marks included English (94%), chemistry (91%), maths and physics (both 90%) and biology (86%).

Hot on his heels was Prishanthi Govender with 9 distinctions, including biology (93%), chemistry (92%), geography (90%), physics (89%) and maths (85%).

Kate Biebuyck earned 7 distinctions with top marks in geography and physics (both 90%) and maths at (86%).

Of the top 3 AS (Advanced Subsidiary) level matriculants, first place was grabbed by Kyle Fisher with 5 distinctions.

Fisher’s top marks were in maths and physics (both 85%), followed by geography at 83%.

Second place went to Keaton Naidoo, also with 5 distinctions, with physics at 87% and chemistry at 84% his top subjects.
