Clean sweep for Ashton sport teams

Ashton College had a productive sport weekend, claiming a clean sweep of victories in all of its fixtures.

The senior college hockey and rugby teams went up against Felixton College recently and won all their matches convincingly.

Special congratulations also goes to the netball team who won their action netball gold final matches to officially win the action netball leagues for term 1.

The Ashton action netball team won the action netball league for term 1.

This last weekend also saw 9 Ashton students qualify and compete in the South African junior swimming championships in Gqeberha.

They were Sven van der Linde, Stirling Dempsey, St John Spoors, Beux Dempsey, Emily Lott, Hannah Ferreira, Riley Holton, Charlie and Ellen Calf.

Ashton pupils who qualified for the South African Junior National Swim Champs in Gqeberha included (back) Hannah Ferreria, Riley Holton, Stirling Dempsey, Sven van der Linde, St John Spoors, Emily Lott, (front) Ellen Calf, Beux Dempsey and Charlie Calf.

A few of the Ashton senior college swimmers made the finals (top 8), while in the Intersen phase both Ellen and Charlie Calf achieved podium swims
