Art fest meets sport action at Ashton

After 2 years of limited events because of Covid-19 restrictions, pupils were once again allowed to support their peers, bringing an electric vibe to campus.

A bumper Saturday at Ashton International College was a feast of sport and culture.

Full sets of fixtures in rugby, netball and hockey ensured supporters had their pick of matches to follow.

Rugby and hockey teams played against Thomas More College, while the netball teams took on Durban Girls College.

There was almost a sweep of victories across the board, except in the U15A rugby clash where Thomas More emerged victorious.

Wins for the girls U15A and B action netball teams meant they also claimed gold in their respective leagues for the year.

Held in conjunction with the sports fixtures was an arts and culture day at the school, where a number of wide-ranging workshops were held for the pupils.

Wire beading, cake decorating, dance classes, drum lessons, pottery and multiple vendors ensured a variety of activities.
