Mandela Day spurs school spring clean at Stanger Secondary

This included teachers, community members and councillors who all arrived ready to use elbow grease for a good cause.

A well-supported Mandela Day clean-up at Stanger Secondary School ensured that the great man’s legacy in education continues.

Multiple old classrooms and rooms at the 102-year-old school had fallen into disuse over the past few years and needed a significant effort to be cleaned up.

Stacks of broken desks, classroom materials and rubbish were removed by volunteers on the day.

This included teachers, community members and councillors who all arrived ready to use elbow grease for a good cause.
