Ashton pupils fry up some heritage magic

The Springbok Sisters each walked away with an airfryer as prize.

A robust cook-off ensued as Ashton International College Ballito pupils celebrated Heritage Day with tasty dishes prepared in airfryers.

The event, held at Hirsch’s, saw pupils dressed up in Heritage Day attire, with teams vying for the top spot.

Judges said they were blown away by some of the creative ideas put together by the teams.

The Springbok Sisters, Ella Backeberg and Isabella Moodley, claimed the honours with their delicious chicken kebabs, corn on the cob and hand cut chips.

Topping it off with dessert, the winning duo made a stunning peppermint cheesecake.

In second and third places were the Igazi Brothers and the Back to the Kazi team.
