Umhlali Preparatory achievers acknowledged

Dux of 2022 was awarded to Thomas du Plessis, a worthy recipient, with runner-up being Megan Mallandain.

Umhlali Preparatory School recently celebrated a week of prize-giving for the many pupils who achieved during the year.

The highlight of the week culminated in the Grade 7 prize-giving on December 9.

After facing many difficulties during the Covid pandemic, and embracing a busy and active year, Umhlali pupils have risen to the challenge with determination.

Dux of 2022 was awarded to Thomas du Plessis, a worthy recipient, with runner-up being Megan Mallandain.

Olivia Lawson received the Principal’s Award.

Both pupils have shown diligence and leadership in many areas outside of the academic sphere.

The Parish of Umhlali All Souls Anglican Church award for honourable service was awarded to Aaron Blackburn. This young man set a high standard of respect, humility and servant leadership.

The other major award, The Principal’s Award, went to Olivia Lawson, a well-deserving recipient who has served the school in many areas and represented the school honourably in sport as well.
