Curro Salt Rock celebrates top 5 matriculants

The top learner was Keira Wilmot, who is off to Varsity College to study computer sciences.

Tensions ran high at Curro Salt Rock on Wednesday when former pupils – and their parents – gathered to collect their  IEB matric results.s

The top five matriculants achieved seven distinctions between them, with the top spot claimed by Keira Wilmot.

Wilmot intends to study computer sciences at Varsity College, while second top achiever Taya Carbutt has already begun a year of teaching in Indonesia.

Carbutt, on her return to the country, plans to study architecture.

In third place was Kelsey Jones, who had been accepted by Varsity College to study education.

Fourth and fifth respectively were Yuvraj Misra and Nkosingphile Dlamini.

Misra plans to study business sciences at the University of Cape Town, while Dlamini will study accounting at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Curro Salt Rock’s 46 matriculants achieved a 97.6% pass rate, allowing them to study at tertiary level.

The school also welcomed the addition of Jenny van Buuren and Joe Erasmus, who respectively take up the positions of head of high school and head of primary school.
