Umhlali Prep celebrates 105 years [Pics]

The school opened its doors on February 11, 1918, with only 11 pupils who enjoyed lessons in a wood and iron classroom at the time.

Umhlali Preparatory celebrated 105 years of providing quality education with a fun-filled day last Saturday.

Parents, teachers and pupils got to enjoy tons of fun activities, including water slides, lucky draws and a huge birthday cake.

School principal, Sandy Wiggill, said she looked forward to continue building on the school’s legacy.

The school opened its doors on February 11, 1918, with only 11 pupils who enjoyed lessons in a wood and iron classroom at the time.

Today, the school boasts more than 1 000 pupils.
