Ashton deliver fantastic results across three sports codes

Ashton's hockey and netball teams again proved themselves formidable opponents, while the golf team took top honours.

Ashton International College Ballito had another successful week of sports results across the board.

The school’s golfers defeated Clifton College, while the boys’ and girls’ first teams excelled at the Crawford La Lucia hockey tournament. The boys went unbeaten, and the girls lost one match, albeit the Gold Final.

The boys’ 1st XI scored 17 goals in eight games, conceding none, as they beat all-comers to the Crawford title. The girls’ 1st XI won four of six matches, drawing another, but were edged 1-0 by Curro Hillcrest in the final by the only goal they conceded at the tournament.

The U14 netball team travelled to Our Lady of Fatima Dominican Convent School to take part in a multi-school competition in Durban North. Ashton beat both the Ballito and Umhlanga Reddam House schools and Curro Hillcrest as they reached the final against Our Lady of Fatima.

Unfortunately, Fatima – who also beat Ashton in the group stage – edged the North Coast school by one point in the Gold Final.

Fourteen hockey players from Ashton were selected across three iLembe Country Districts teams.
