Umhlali Prep backs Thembeni Primary at Karibu Padel event

The event helped raise nearly half of a R20 000 fundraising target.

Umhlali Prep brought together pupils, parents and supporters for a fundraising padel day at Karibu Padel in Umhlali on Friday in support of Thembeni Primary School.

The highlight of the event was Laps Around the Macs, where children ran laps around Karibu’s macadamia trees.

Aidan du Toit, Zoe Swart, Rex Veale and Finn Reinertsen.

Families also enjoyed a lively programme of activities, with children and adults competing on the padel courts, while others took part in a fishing competition and children’s and adults’ padel americano games.

Through the Sports for Lives non-profit organisation, participants pledged sponsorship amounts per lap completed by their child or chosen participant, helping raise nearly half of the R20 000 target.

Isla Bekker, Scarlett Elliot and Charlotte Nichol.
