NOTICE OF EIA AND MMP APPLICATION
RENOVATION OF A PRIVATE DWELLING, COASTAL SLOPE STABILISATION AND REHABILITATION OF THE COASTAL FOREDUNE ON ERF 297 & ERF 295, 33 COLWYN DRIVE, SHEFFIELD BEACH, KWADUKUZA MUNICIPALITY, KZN Notice is hereby given, in terms of Regulation 41 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014 (GN R982, as amended), that Khweza Environmental Consulting (Pty) Ltd, on behalf of the property owner, Anthea Felicity Knowles, intends to submit a Basic Assessment application to the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) for the renovation of an existing dwelling and associated coastal slope stabilisation and dune rehabilitation works at 33 Colwyn Drive, Sheffield Beach.
The works are required to stabilise an eroding coastal embankment threatening the property and to rehabilitate the degraded frontal dune, and are anticipated to trigger Activities 15, 18 and 19A of Listing Notice 1, and Activities 12 and 14 of Listing Notice 3, of the EIA Regulations.
