We need to dig deep and practice patience of Herculean proportion when it comes to Stuart Whittaker (Felled trees shock Seatides residents, March 6) and Mohammed Desai (Why no photo of a white beggar, Letters, March 6). Clearly both individuals have issues!

Whittaker the land baron hasn’t heard of Google to investigate or interrogate any question one might have, but hey, ignorance or “I thought . . .” works, so sorry I just own the land, the birds should have notified me, or better yet, I should have got off my ass and taken a drive to see for myself if felling all those trees would be a death sentence to dozens of baby birds!

Then we have Desai. Clearly the man is an oracle. From the comfort of his car he can state as a fact that the white beggars are on drugs and or drunk!

He is well balanced however, as he notes that whites are the so-claimed educated community, so it smacks of racism on his part. This judgemental racist oracle has urgent need of anger management classes. Although as an editor you should have noted a beggar has no colour, race or creed, just hard times and a sad story to tell.
