Recently I read that performing a random act of kindness was one of the most fulfilling experiences. I did one very small act last Friday and was amazed when it was repaid manyfold on Tuesday.
I was driving along the M4 when I hit the Westbrook circle and punctured a tyre. I was sober at the time, so whether this was due to poor lighting, a lack of concentration or poor eyesight I cannot say.
I started to change the tyre when a local Westbrook resident pulled up and offered me the services of her strapping passengers to help. This car was quickly jacked up and the wheel nuts removed but the tyre would not budge.
I then phoned the A.A. but my helper stayed with me. Eventually further local help arrived and after an enormous struggle the tyre finally came off and was replaced. The whole process took over an hour. The A.A. arrived just after the tyre had been changed.
Regretfully I took no names but all the Westbrook residents who helped, thank you very much indeed!
