I have never seen a letter in the papers, but am sure that most residents in the vicinity of the park are also sick and tired of the noise emanating from the Townsend Park hall when it is rented out.
These inconsiderate people have no regard for the residents who live in the surrounding properties. It is now 11.30 pm and the “music” and “singing” continues.
It is not a suitable venue for weddings etc as the hall is small and all events actually take place in the open. There are other more suitable venues available well away from residential areas.
We expressed our concerns earlier this year to Lions, who rent out the hall. However this seems to have fallen on deaf ears. The people concerned clearly live well outside the area and couldn’t be bothered.
I suppose that this is just further proof that no-one gives a damn. A handful of people are allowed to make things unpleasant for many.
