So, Sembcorp want to add recycled water to our potable water. I am not impressed – not by the fact that the water will be recycled, but by what we will be paying for it.

Hot on the heels of the 41% increase, they now want to add cheap water to our expensive potable water – recycled water that we have already paid sewerage charges on to treat. Adding this cheap, “already paid for by the consumer”water, and then charging the full (recently increased) price takes “Double Dipping” to a new level! Or will here be a subsequent decrease in the price (ha ha), in which case it might be acceptable?

Rather add the recycled water to those areas that supposedly aren’t “affluent”. After all, those areas didn’t get ripped with the 41% increase like Ballito did!

I see Sembcorp also conveniently made the voting cutoff date on June 10, before their customers had time to read to any comments in the Courier before making a decision, or is this cutoff date purely coincidental?
