The Darnall Zamani Orphans Outreach looks after 44 orphans in 13 houses in the small village of Zamani. The children are looked after by a Gogo in each of the homes. For many years the communities of Zinkwazi and Darnall plus holidaymakers and visitors, have been graciously assisting us in providing basic monthly food packs.

This year, in the spirit of Nelson Mandela Day, on Saturday 18 July we intend to plant and fence in a small vegetable garden in each of the homes. This will be to encourage self-sustenance by growing and harvesting vegetables for each of the houses. We have already planted avocado and banana trees.

Our plea is directed at any gardening centre/hardware store who might wish to assist us by donating fencing materials. We would need about 26m (3m wide) of nylon bird-netting or similar, and about 75x 1.4m droppers as posts to hold up the fencing.

Should any company believe this to be a worthy endeavour, I would be grateful if they would phone me.
