I refer to the letter “A little courtesy would go a long way” (Courier, October 9) and hate to say that I do think I am the sweet old granny that was in the queue behind him. Should this be so, then I would like to say . . . I am not sweet, nor a granny, but that’s beside the point.

Mr P Botha, you were extremely rude to the Indian lady behind the counter. You were in the wrong and took out your frustrations on her.

She was patiently explaining “things” to you. You had a grace period of 21 days after your licence/s expired yet still managed to be a day late. The failure to receive notification has nothing to do with the staff behind the counter.

In fact you were quite aggressive and threatening. If I had been her, I would have shut the counter immediately.

I had also not received my notification of renewal, but with a simple smile and a “what do I do?” I was assisted in a professional, kind and courteous manner.

You get what you give.
