The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” (Psalm 32:8 NLT)

Here is Someone who knows the road ahead, and knows what’s coming down the road towards you. In addition he knows your fitness level to walk the terrain. He is offering to be your guide and mentor, and for you to be his intern. There is no better life-guide than Jesus Christ. He is simply the BEST. With him as your guide, you may pass through some very rough and unexpected terrain on life’s pathway. But walking with him at your side, you will never lose your way or land up in the badlands of devastation.

The shepherd, King David understood this and sang his song, that many of us have joined: “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.”

There is an astonishing theme in the Bible; that Almighty God has a purpose from the universe’s creation for me to achieve my potential and accomplish things that are of timeless value.

When studying the Scriptures, it is evident that our Maker desires to communicate with us. His instructions provide us with essential guidance. (See Ephesians 1:4 and Revelation 13:8). In fact, he has promised to guide you on life’s pathway.

“With all your heart… trust the LORD and not your own judgment.

Always let him lead you, and he will clear the road for you to follow.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 (CEV))

This guidance, that he offers, works best as you live each day in some awareness that he is right there at your side, and available to help and steer you on the best paths. But just one word of caution: You can’t use him like you would your GPS Garmin or Tom Tom; like a convenient piece of apparatus you can turn on and off at will. God’s kind of guidance only works as you develop a conversational relationship with this “Great Shepherd”.

This awesome Guide/Shepherd wants the best for your life, from his perspective.

I have found that he knows very well how to get through to me. He knows how to “push my buttons” and send me in the right direction, or help me make a mid-course correction.

If you have not yet done so, let me encourage you to ask him to be your guide though life ahead.
