Letter: Sad reverse racism

Only the corrupt fat cats at the top will be able to have enough food on their tables.

Michelle Mauvis is saddened by reverse racism: Until now we as white South Africans have been quiet.

We handed over the reins 20 years ago and most white people I know want to help our black brothers and sisters to build our country – youth unemployment and poverty are global.

But now the attitudes are changing. Many white people don’t want to help anymore.

Taking land from farmers will destroy the country’s economy and the poor will just become poorer.

It’s racism in reverse, sadly. My daughter wants to study to become a doctor but because she is white her chances are very poor. So, we have to send her to another country.

That does not help South Africa. The worst thing that has happened in our country has been the terrible corruption that has drained billions of Rands.

If that money was distributed to the poor, there would be no poverty.

We have to address our issues where the root is. I understand that apartheid was a terrible injustice, but apartheid in reverse will only leave everyone shattered. There will be nothing left.

Only the corrupt fat cats at the top will be able to have enough food on their tables.
