Letter: Stop black snow

It's time to put pressure on the authorities responsible.

Pam Mills of Ballito writes: I totally agree with Patrick Ronan on the subject of black snow (Forget the Drakensberg – the snow’s here, September 21).

Cane fires are seen even during high winds, resulting in large quantities of disgusting, harmful ash falling everywhere.

It is beyond time for this practice to be strictly monitored or even outlawed.

One only has to look at the colour of roof tiles to see how damaging this is to property as well as health.

As Patrick mentioned, it’s time to put pressure on the authorities responsible.
