Thandi Ngcobo of Tinley Manor is not impressed: This is a request to the young white woman who, around 5pm on Friday afternoon, parked a Toyota Hilux in the area that is designated for pushing trollies out of the Ballito Junction at Exit 2 of Level 4.
The woman ignored my request that she not park her bakkie there because I was, as was evident, pushing a trolley to the parking area.
Instead, she parked there to join a long ticket validation queue, forcing me to wait for her highness to be done.
Her response after she was done to my comment about the unacceptability of her behaviour was that she had an emergency – no apology!
If your parents did not teach you to be considerate to all human beings, irrespective of racial descent, please do everyone a favour and give yourself and your children, if you have any, this teaching especially regarding folks who are much older than you.
I am in my 60s and you looked like you were in your 30s or 40s, which puts me more or less in the same generation as your parents.
Furthermore, please assume that Africans also do have emergencies and require dignified consideration in the same way you do.
Taking the history of our country into consideration, I am assuming that the reason for your behaviour was because you are of European descent and I am an African.
It is, however, possible that you might have behaved in the same manner towards another White.
Well, that would be another matter altogether…
