Denis Aspden of Salt Rock writes: In July 2018 I applied to renew my driver’s licence and was told the process would take four to six weeks.
Almost six months later I am still waiting. My first port of call after 10 weeks was to the licencing office in Stanger, only to be told it was not yet ready.
Since then I have even tried the provincial traffic department who finally responded with an SMS number to which I should send my ID, so this I did and received back a message, “Your licence is currently in production”.
Seven weeks later I am still receiving the same message and the same for my wife’s application.
Now my temporary licence expires on January 18, 2019.
The mind boggles at the efficiency of the government department concerned.
What should one do, go buy a licence somewhere?
