Letter: Control immigration

Waiting until the situation becomes irreversible, as we seem to be doing, will prove disastrous.

Cllr Roy Naidoo of Darnall writes:

Government buries its head in the sand when it’s time to address the uncontrolled movement of undocumented foreigners into our country.

In 1994, South Africa’s population was 40 million, today it is 55 million and growing.

We don’t have enough resources to keep up with rapid population growth.

Influx control is a swear word as far as our leaders are concerned.

The sooner measures are introduced to stop this threat to our nation, the better.

Waiting until the situation becomes irreversible, as we seem to be doing, will prove disastrous.
