Ms Lungile Khumalo of Mandeni writes: Thanks ever so much for publishing my letter pertaining to the incompetence at the Mandeni Department of Social Development (Deserted at lunchtime, June 7).
I was extremely disappointed by the response of department official Ms Nikiwe Ntombela who stated along the lines that their lunchtime arrangement works for them and makes their working process faster.
I am going to take further steps with this matter because it is totally unacceptable and goes against the Batho Pele principles.
As I said before, this is not just for the gentleman in my neighbourhood, it is for any member of the public walking into the department seeking assistance.
Last but not least, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Thandi Ngcobo of Palm Lakes who responded to my letter (Selflessness is needed, June 14) with such kind and sweet words which will be a source of inspiration as I make sure that the department changes its lunchtime processes.
