So the Democratic Alliance (DA) has kept Ward 22 which includes my little part of the world, P228, the road going down to the Sharks Board and the Animal Farm in Sheffield/Salt Rock.
I live in Sheffield Manor which I believe houses 330 families whom I am sure mostly voted for the DA. To be honest though, I actually wonder what it is the DA as our representatives do for the residents along that stretch of road?
Across the road we have illegal land occupiers.
We have local businesses delivering building materials to the land grabbers.
Kwadakuza municipality, in search of votes for the ANC prior to the national and regional elections, visited the site and removed some of the shacks but since then we have not seen or heard from them again.
I do not think we have ever heard or seen the DA here.
I wonder if when the service delivery protests inevitably begin we will finally see them in our area?
