Letter: Excellent service from the licensing department

Too often we hear horror stories about the service (or lack of!) from our municipality’s various departments.

Andy Horton of Ballito writes:

Too often we hear horror stories about the service (or lack of!) from our municipality’s various departments but I wish to publicly acknowledge the excellent service I received recently from the licensing department of the KwaDukuza municipality.

On Sunday, my double-cab was stolen in Durban, along with all my documentation, including driver’s license, identity document, etc. On Monday, I telephoned the licensing department and enquired as to the process required to obtain a temporary driver’s licence.

I then attended at their offices and the entire process to obtain a temporary driver’s licence took no more than 10 mins! Surely a record!

How’s that for excellent service?
