Jo Moodley of Tongaat Child Welfare writes:
Day by day tiny little toes are growing.
In view of the low-income bracket Tongaat Child Welfare Society’s clients fall in, January is the most daunting month for even the average income household.
After caregivers do their best to ensure that celebrations during the festive period lives up to every child’s imagination, we find that there is very little money left to bear the cost of the New Year school requirements (school uniforms, stationary, bags, shoes, school fees and lunch).
A school shoe is an item which is often than not the most needed.
Tongaat Child Welfare Society requires assistance with making this drive possible.
The average cost of a new school shoe ranges from R100 – R250.
