From the information made available in your newspaper it is very obvious that the Department of Water Affairs has not got a clue about any matters relating to budgetary control and finance, or the requirements of the raising of the dam wall.
To be truthful and blunt they are all totally incompetent for the positions that they currently hold.
They should all be fired immediately with no bonus or severance payments.
The problem is that Umgeni Water is the same type of government organisation with the same type of outlook and staff.

All that was required at Hazelmere was the simplest method to raise the dam wall, and definitely not what they have squandered the taxpayer’s money on.
The fact that they did not pay the contractor all monies due is typical of many government departments who consider that they are due something.
The only thing that they are due is a long hard labour prison sentence with no parole.
It is noted that South Africa is now becoming a totally failed economy because of the incompetence of the senior management. Does this go as high as the President? By the time we really find out it will be too late.
