Letter: What happened, Mr President?

I think of what the roads look like, the power cuts, the increase in tariffs, rapes, burglaries, neglect, drunken orgies in public places - and I wonder, what happened to our President!

Christine Robberts of Ballito writes:

I have joined the movement https://www.facebook.com/groups/hashtagimstaying/?fref=nf and reading all these amazing stories of how people help one another, I realise more and more what an amazing country we have – not only because of the beauty but more because of the beautiful people we are and it helps me to stay positive and to believe that our country will eventually survive.

Then I get the latest Courier and what I read depresses me: one car for 66 cops, M4 falling apart, KDM’s irregular spending, Parrot fish poachers, Grade 3 teacher found dead at home, Protec faces closure.

Yes, there are good stories as well, M4 skating heaven, Mandeni pupils win.

I think of what the roads look like, the power cuts, the increase in tariffs, rapes, burglaries, neglect, drunken orgies in public places – and I wonder, what happened to our President!

Is he still around?

When will we get a leader who will be able to turn things around, that can say enough is enough?
